• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    It was another sunny day here on the island. the temperature was in the lower 80’s. In the morning the winds were 5-10 mph from the south-west but gradually picked up to  10-15 mph in the afternoon.

    From the beach today the fishing was good. From the beach in Avon there was spanish mackeral, sea mullet, croaker, bluefish, and spot caught. In Buxton there was sea mullet, pompano, and blues biting. Here in Frisco the fishing was slow with just a few bluefish and some croaker caught. Hatteras beach had blowtoads, sea mullet, croakers and pompano. on the sound sinde there was some puppy drum caught.

    Inshore today the fishing was pretty good. The was a good red drum bite in the afternoon. The spanish mackerel were biting good.

    Offshore today the fishing was great.  The dolphin bite was as good as it gets with some boats limiting out. There was a scattered blackfin and wahoo biting. From the bottom there was amberjacks, triggerfish, and red snapper.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had sunny skies and humid weather.  The winds were from the south-west at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

    Up on the  Avon beaches there were some sea mullet and bluefish caught.  The Buxton beach had a few sea mullet and spanish mackerel reported.  The Frisco  beaches had a few sea mullet caught. The Hatteras beach had reports of a few spanish mackerel in he morning until the grass pushed in.

    The inshore boats caught puppy drum. today in the Pamlico Sound.  The spanish mackerel bite was pretty good around Hatteras Inlet.

    The offshore boats had good dolphin and black fun tuna fishing. a  A few wahoo were also caught.  The red snapper bite was good too from the bottom.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had sunny skies.  The winds were from the south-west at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

    Today the fishing was a little better.  The Avon and Buxton beaches had some sea mullet and blow toads reported.  The Frisco beaches had sea mullet.  The Hatteras beach had sea mullet and a 40 lb cobia caught by Roy Kiser form Salem VA.

    The inshore boats caught puppy drum, gray trout and sheepshead today in the Pamlico Sound.  The spanish mackerel bite was pretty good around Hatteras Inlet.

    The offshore boats had good dolphin fishing and decent black fin tuna fishing.  A few wahoo were also caught.  The red snapper bite was good too from the bottom.

    The 57th Annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament had another good day of fishing.  13 blue marlin and four white marlin were released.  The “Reel Pleasure” boated a 451.8 lb blue marlin to  land itself on top of the inaugural outboard level of the tournament.  For all the current information click the link: http://www.thebigrock.com/leaderboard/2015/2015-tournament-leaderboard

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had partly sunny skies with windy conditions.  The winds were from the south-west at 15-20 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

    Today the fishing was slow.  The Avon and Buxton beaches had some sea mullet reported.  The southern beaches of Frisco and Hatteras are fighting the sargassum grass so fishing has been quite difficult.

    The inshore boats caught keeper flounder and puppy drum today in the Pamlico Sound.

    No boats fished offshore from the  charter fleet due to the rough south-west winds.  There were 4 boats that ventured out fishing the 57th Annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament today and there were no hook ups on billfish and a few dolphin and wahoo caught.  The leader board stays the same with the “Viking 62” still on top with there 680 lb Blue Marlin.   For all the current information click the link: http://www.thebigrock.com/leaderboard/2015/2015-tournament-leaderboard

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we reached a high of 81F.  We had winds out of the southwest 5 to 12 mph.

    Avon beach had sea mullet, croaker and small bluefish today.  Buxton had a few sea mullet and a few small bluefish as well.  Frisco had a few pompano.  There was a cobia spotted, but couldn’t get it to take the bait.  Hatteras reports small bluefish, sea mullet and small flounder.

    The inshore boats had big red drum and keeper size, along with some spanish mackerel.

    The offshore boats had good catches of dolphin, blackfin tuna and scattered wahoo.  There were a couple of blue marlin released.  Pictured below is Ben with his first dolphin.  He was fishing on Predator Sport Fishing.  Nice fish Ben!

    57th Annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament  started today.  Viking 62 isn’t messing around, they brought a 680lb Blue Marlin to the dock and so far are in the lead.  Here’s a link for the current standings for the first day. http://www.thebigrock.com/leaderboard/2015/2015-tournament-leaderboard
