• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was a beautiful day with cooler temperatures.  The winds were from the northeast at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

    Up on the  Avon beaches some spanish mackerel, sea mullet, puppy drum and bluefish were reported.  Around the Buxton beaches some puppy drum, pompano and sea mullet were caught.  Over on the Frisco beach few spanish mackerel and pompano were caught.  Down on the Hatteras beach and around  Hatteras Inlet some sea mullet, spanish mackerel and pompano were reported.

    The inshore boats are having real good red drum and spanish mackerel fishing in the Pamlico Sound. The bluefish and spanish mackerel bite is good around Hatteras Inlet.  .

    The offshore boats had good dolphin fishing with a few wahoo and blackfin tuna caught.  The 56th Annual Hatteras Marlin Club Blue Marlin Release Tournament continues today through the rest of the week .  Here’s a link to their webpage http://hatterasmarlinclub.com/tournaments.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was hot and humid with clear sunny skies.  The winds were from the west at 5 mph and the temperatures were in the low 90’s with a heat index of 104 degrees.

    Around the Avon beaches some spanish mackerel, sea mullet and bluefish were reported.  Around the Buxton beaches some spanish mackerel, puppy drum and sea mullet were caught.  Over on the Frisco beaches small bluefish and pompano were caught.  Down on the Hatteras beach and around  Hatteras Inlet some sea mullet, spanish mackerel and pompano were reported.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had clear skies with a high of 89F.  It was another hot, muggy day out there.  We had south-south-west winds around 5-10 mph.

    Avon reports sea mullet, croaker and pompano.  Buxton had spanish mackerel and sea mullet.  Frisco had some pompano and sea mullet.  Hatteras reports pompano, sea mullet and bluefish.  Below is a citation pompano, 2 1/2 lbs caught by Earlene Carter from Cumberland Md.  She caught this and her and her husband caught some sea mullet too at Ramp 49.

    The inshore boats are catching red drum, there are still a few cobia around also.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was it was hot and muggy here on the island.  It was a nice day to enjoy the beach, fish a little and cool off in the Ole’ Atlantic!  We had a light north breeze this morning, then a light southeast breeze this afternoon.  The temperature was around 89F, felt a lot warmer though.

    Avon beach reports a mix of spanish mackerel, bluefish, sea mullet and croaker.  Buxton reports some sea mullet.  Frisaco reports some pompano, sea mullet and bluefish.  There were quite a few sandfleas around, so get your rakes out.  Hatteras reports bluefish, spot, croaker and sea mullet.

    The inshore boats caught drum, bluefish, croakers, spot and even  got on some clams.

    The offshore boats returned with catches of dolphin, wahoo and blackfin tuna.  A blue and white marlin were released today.  Pictured below is Hatteas Blue with a nice wahoo.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    It was another great day here on the island. The winds were west 5-10 mph. The temperatures were in the mid 80’s. The skies were partly cloudy with a few scattered showers late in the day.

    The beach fishing was pretty good today. In Avon there was a cobia from the beach along with sea mullet, croaker and pompano. In Buxton there was spanish mackerel and sea-mullet biting. Here in Frisco the bluefish and sea-mullet were biting. In Hatteras there was bluefish, spot, sea mullet and croaker caught.

    Inshore today there was some good fishing. The drum fishing was spot on again today. there was some grey trout, spot, and some sea-mullet. There is still a few cobia around.

    Offshore today the fishing slowed down some. There was scattered balckfin fishing with some dolphin around. A few boats had some good billfish bites today.

     

    Today was the final day of the 57th Annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament heres the final results leader board. Congratulations to this years winner’s.
