  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today was mostly cloudy, with a high of 83F.  We had west winds this morning, then switched to the west-south-west, which blew out of the remainder of the day.  It blew anywhere from 20 to 9 mph.  Also a little southwest wind mixed in the afternoon as well.  We also had some rainshowers this afternoon.

Fishing was a little tough today, the northern beaches  were the only place we got reports.  Avon had croaker and puppy drum.  With the southwest winds, the southern beaches are tough to fish, the seas had calmed down a little from yesterday, but the sandblasting had kicked it up a knotch.  We did not have any reports from the southern beaches today.

A couple of inshore boats went out today.  One boat caught a cobia and lost another.  No offshore boats ventured out today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

The weather today wasn’t the greatest. the temperatures were around 80 through out the day with winds 15-20 mph from the south. We had scattered showers in the morning and afternoon with a clear blue skies in the middle of the day.

Weather slowed the fishing down today. In Avon from the beach the bluefish and croaker were biting. From the pier there was some spot, gray trout, croaker, and sea-mullet caught. In Buxton there was some spanish mackerel and some bluefish caught. Here in Frisco the sea mullet and pompano were caught. From the Hatteras beach there was sea-mullet, pompano and some blues caught.

Inshore today was really slow due to the wind. There was only a few drum caught back in the sound.

The Offshore bite today was a little slower. There was a good dolphin bite but a only a few wahoo caught.

Here’s a picture from the Hatteras Fever II today with the blue marlin they hooked.
