• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    It was a sunny day here on Hatteras Island.  We reached a high of 78F.  The winds were out of the northeast 5 to 12 mph.

    Avon beach had reports of bluefish, croaker and spot.  Buxton reports bluefish, pompano and sea mullet.  Frisco reports a few nice size bluefish, caught on bait. Hatteras reports black drum, bluefish, flounder and sea mullet.  Pictured below is Chad Trent with a 9lb 4 1/2 oz bluefish, caught on mullet.

    The inshore boats had catches of gray trout in the morning and good catches of red drum in the afternoon.  Pictured below is The Hook Up Charter with a nice red drum.

    A few boats fished offshore.  They came back to the dock with good catches of dolphin, gaffers and bailers.  Also good catches of spanish mackerel.  Pictured below is Hatteras Blue Sportsfishing with a couple of fishing dudes and a dolphin.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    It was a cool start to a beautiful day. With North winds 5-10 mph and temperatures in the mid 70’s it was a great day to be fishing.

    From the beach today there was some really good fishing. In Avon the sea-mullet and blues were biting from the beach. From the pier there was some croaker, sea-mullet, spot, and a cobia caught. In Buxton there was sea-mullet, bluefish, and spanish biting. Here in Frisco there was a good pompano and the seamullet were biting as well with only a couple bluefish here today.  In Hatteras there was flounder, blues, sea mullet and a couple cobia caught.

    David Masters from Woodbridge, Va caught this big 3 pound pompano today here in Frisco off ramp 49. Pretty work David!

    Here”s Howard Dreisigaker from here in Frisco with a 1lb 12oz sea-mullet he caught today. Nice catch Howard!

    Inshore today there was a handful of cobia caught. The spanish mackerel and bluefish bite was great. There was a good puppy drum bite in the sound today.

    Offshore today the gaffers and bailer dolphin were biting. There was a few wahoo around and a few king mackerel. There was a good bite from the blackfin tuna today. There was some amberjacks and tilefish brought up from the bottom today also.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    The skies weren’t clear but the fishing was still good. Temperatures today were in the mid 70’s and winds were north-east 5-10 mph. The skies did clear up a little later in the day.

    From the beach today the fishing was pretty good. In Avon there was bluefish, sea-mullet blowtoads along with some spot and croaker from the pier. In Buxton there was pompano, blowtoads, and some spanish mackerel. In Frisco there was a liitle bit of everything with some sea-mullet, pompano, bluefish, blowtoads, and even some small flounder. Down on hatteras beach there was some bluefish and sea-mullet caught.

     

    Inshore today there was a good bite from the puppy drum and even some big drum released. The bluefish and spanish are still biting good outside of the inlet.

    Offshore today the fish was scattered but there was a good variety of fish caught. only a few billfish were caught. The wahoo and blackfin tuna bite was scattered and the dolphin bite was fair.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had mostly sunny skies with rain clouds all around us.  The winds were from the south-east at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 70’s.

    Up on the Avon beaches there were catches of sea mullet reported.  Around the Buxton beaches there were a few pompano, sea mullet and bluefish caught.  Over on the Frisco beach there were pompano, sea mullet, a big bluefish, 18 in flounder, some spot and small bluefish caught. Below is nice Citation Pompano caught on off of Ramp 49 in Frisco today by Clyde Karnes.

    This Big Bluefish was also caught off Ramp 49 today.

    The inshore boats had good catches of puppy drum and some and gray trout in the Pamlico Sound today.

    The offshore fleet had good catches of gaffer dolphin with a few wahoo and blackfin tuna.   The bottom fishing was really good afain today with triggerfish, snapper and grouper caught.  A couple of white marlin were released today.

  • Hatteras Island Fislhing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had partly cloudy skies with rain showers early in the day. The winds were from the north north-east at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 70’s.

    We had pretty good fishing today from the beaches.  Up on the Avon beaches there were catches of sea mullet, puppy drum,pompano and bluefish reported.  Around the Buxton beaches we have had puppy drum, pompano and some big bluefish in the 8-11 lb range.  Over on the Frisco beach  and down on the Hatteras beaches there were  sea mullet, bluefish and pompano caught.

    The inshore boats caught more puppy drum and some red drum over 40 inches in the Pamlico Sound today. The spanish mackerel and bluefish bite was really good just outside Hatteras Inlet.

    The offshore fleet had good catches of gaffer dolphin with a few wahoo and blackfin tuna.   The bottom fishing was really good today with triggerfish, snapper and grouper caught.
