• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was another hot one, we hit a high of 91F today.  SE winds started in the afternoon  and blew 10 mph down to 5.

    The fishing has slowed down just a little.  Avon reports sea mullet and croaker.  Buxton had bluefish and croaker.  Here in Frisco, we had reports of bluefish and pompano.  Hatteras had 1 drum, 1 cobia, sea mullet and bluefish.

    The inshore boats had red drum, a cobia, bluefish and spanish mackerel.  Pictured below is Bak Bar Sportfishing with a cobia caught today.

    The offshore boats brought back some dolphin, blackfin tuna, a few wahoo and some bottom fish to the docks today.  There were a couple of sailfish released today also.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there!!

    Happy First Day of Summer!  Boy can you tell it, we reached a high of 89F today.  We had west winds  this morning, then switched to the south-west this afternoon around 10-15 mph.

    The fishing has slowed down a little.  Avon beach sea mullet, bluefish and pompano.  Buxton beach reports sheepshead and sea mullet behind the motels.  Frisco had some grass today, but there were a few sea mullet and flounder caught.  Hatteras had no report today.

    The inshore boats had catches of red drum and bluefish today.  There were no boats offshore today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Another beautiful summer day here on the island. Today we had South winds 5-10 mph and temperatures in the high 80’s.

    The fishing was pretty good from the beach today. In Avon there was spot, croakers, blues, spanish mackerel, pompano, and sea mullet caught. In Buxton there was a few sea mullet, pompano and spanish caught. Here in Frisco there was some nice sea-mullet and a few pompano with some citation sized fish caught. In Hatteras there was sea mullet, croaker, bluefish and flounder biting.

    Inshore today the fishing slowed down some. the drum are still here and biting good. The spanish mackerel were biting today as well.

    Fishing was a little slower offshore today. The dolphin bite slowed was scattered.  There was a few wahoo, amberjack, and blackfin tuna caught today also. The bill fish bite was good today with sailfish, blue marlin and white marlin all biting. 56th Annual Hatteras Marlin Club Blue Marlin Release Tournament continues today through the rest of the week.   • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    It was another hot sunny day here on the island. The temperatures were in the upper 80’s with winds from the west at 5-10 mph. Later in the day there was thunderstorms showing up.

    Fishing from the beach today was pretty good. In Avon the sea mullet, pompano, bluefish and some spanish mackerel caught. In Buxton there was pompano, sea mullet, and bluefish biting. Here in Frisco there was some sea mullet and puppy drum around. in hatteras the bluefish, pompano, and croaker were biting.

    Inshore today there was some bigger drum around and spanish mackerel biting. Later in the day there was some grey trout and bluefish caught.

    Offshore today the fishing was scattered. There was a nice catch of dolphin, a few wahoo, and some blackfin tuna caught. From the bottom there was some triggerfish and sea bass.   • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was warmer with sunny skies.  The winds were from the south-west at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

    Up on the  Avon beaches some sea mullet and bluefish were reported.  Around the Buxton beaches some pompano, bluefish and sea mullet were caught.  Over on the Frisco beach few pompano and sea mullet were caught.  Down on the Hatteras beach and around  Hatteras Inlet some sea mullet , bluefish and pompano were reported.

    The inshore boats are having real good spanish mackerel and bluefish fishing in the Pamlico Sound.

    The offshore boats had great dolphin fishing with a few wahoo and blackfin tuna caught.   A blue marlin and 2 white marlin were released.  The 56th Annual Hatteras Marlin Club Blue Marlin Release Tournament continues today through the rest of the week .  Here’s a link to their webpage http://hatterasmarlinclub.com/tournaments.
