• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Today was a beautiful, but cold day here on Hatteras Island.  We had blue, sunny skies with a high of 44F.  We had west-north-west winds this morning blowing around 13 mph and diminishing, switching over to the north, then to the south-west late tonight/early tomorrow morning.  Warmer temperatures tomorrow.

Fishing wasn’t too bad today, despite the coldness.  Ramp 49 had a combination of fish today.  There were dog sharks, those were caught on the finger mullet.  There were puppy drum, most of those were caught on whole shrimp.  Last but not least were blow toads, caught on shrimp as well.

No inshore boats made it out today.  There were a few boats that made it offshore today.  There were good catches of blackfin tuna and some amberjack from bottom fishing.  Good Times had a shark trip and release a couple of 300lbers.  Pictured below is one of their releases.
