• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

    The Weather in Frisco was sunny and hot again today.  We had south-east winds 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s.  Today the fishing was pretty good.  On the Buxton beach the pompano and bluefish were biting well.  Some bluefish were caught on lures.  The Frisco beach had sea mullet and some croaker.  The inshore boats caught lots of spanish mackerel and a good amount of speckled trout.  The offshore boats had good dolphin fishing and a few blackfin tuna and wahoo.  The bottom was slower today with some vermilion sanppers caught.  One sailfish was released and other white and blue marlin were hooked up or spotted.  Below is a nice shot of the sailfish released by the “Sea Creature” charter boat today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

    The Weather in Frisco was sunny today and hot.  We had south-west winds 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the mid to upper 80’s.  Slow fishing from the beaches today.  Scattered catches of bluefish and sea mullet from the Buxton and Frisco beaches. The inshore boats had good spanish mackerel and bluefish catches.  A few speckled and gray trout were also caught.  The offshore fleet had a real good day of dolphin. both gaffer and bailer size.  Some nice wahoo and a few blackfin tuna were caught.  The marlin fishing was really good today.  One blue marlin, three sailfish and five white marlin were released today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

    The Weather in Frisco was sunny and windy.  We had south-west winds 15-20 mph with gusts to 25 mph.  The temperatures were in the mid 80’s.  The Avon and Buxton beaches had some sea mullet and croakers caught.  The Frisco beach had reports of sea mullet and pompano.  The Hatteras beaches today were pretty good.  Some nice size pompano and sea mullet were caught.  Some flounder were reported on the soundside down near Hatteras Inlet.  The inshore boats had good spanish mackerel and bluefish catches in the morning.  The speckled and gray trout were biting well this morning.  Some big drum were caught too.  By the afternoon the wind really picked up and the fishing was slower.  The offshore boats had real good dolphin and blackfin tuna fishing.  A few wahoo, two sailfish and a white marlin were caught too.  The picture below is a gaffer dolphin from the “Bite Me” charter boat.

    To catch some live bait for excellent flounder fishing in the Pamlico sound, the Gee’s Minnow Trap will do the trick.  Bait with bread, pet food or some cut up fish and place in a canal and the minnows will find their way in.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

    The Weather in Frisco was sunny today.  We had west south-west winds 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 80’s.  The Avon beaches had some croaker, sea mulllet, spot and some bluefish.  The Frisco and Hatteras beaches had scattered catches of sea mullet and pompano.  The inshore fleet caught lots of spanish mackerel and bluefish.  Several big red drum were released from 30″ to 47″.  The offshore boats had real good fishing.  Good dolphin catches and a few blackfin tuna and wahoo.  The Marlin fishing was really good.  The Hatteras Harbor fleet released 1 sailfish, four white marlin and four blue marlin.  Three of the blue marlin were caught by the “Hatteras Fever II” charter boat.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island:

    The Weather in Frisco was sunny.  We had south-west winds 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 80’s.  The Frisco beach had a few bluefish and sea mullet caught.  Down on the Hatteras beaches there were some bluefish and spanish mackerel caught as far as you could drive.  A few sea mullet and flounder were also reported.  The inshore boats had all the spanish mackerel you could want, some bluefish, a few big drum and speckled trout.  Offshore fishing was really good today.  Lots of dolphin caught, with some limits.  A few blackfin tuna and wahoo were also reported.  The bottom fishing has been real good offshore with nice catches of sea bass, triggerfish, grouper and tilefish.  The marlin fishing is still going strong.  Today out of Hatteras Harbor their were four blue marlin and three white marlin released.
