• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today the weather was overcast most of the day with calm winds.  The winds were from the south-west at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

    Up on the Avon beach a few spanish mackerel, bluefish and sea mullet were reported.   Out at Cape Point in Buxton spanish mackerel were reported.  Over on the Frisco beach some sea mullet were caught.  Down in Hatteras sea mullet, puppy drum and a 1 lb 8 oz pompano was caught on sandfleas by Jim Price of Frisco.  Pretty Work Jim!!!

    The inshore boats caught lots of citation red drum, a few cobia and lots of spanish mackerel outside Hatteras Inlet today.  There were puppy drum caught in the Pamlico Sound today.

    The offshore boats caught a few gaffer dolphin and triggerfish today.  One estimated 110″ blue marlin was released today by the “Good Times” charter boat.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had overcast skies with some heavy rain early this morning.  The sun came out in the afternoon.  The winds were from the south-west at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

    Today on the Buxton beaches there were sea mullet and bluefish caught.  Out at Cape Point in Buxton bluefish, a few puppy drum and sting rays were reported.  Over on the Frisco beach sea mullet and bluefish were reported.

    The inshore boats caught some cobia, speckled trout and puppy drum in the and around Hatteras Inlet and the Pamlico Sound.

    The offshore boats caught gaffer dolphin, black fin tuna, trigger fish and grouper.  Hatteras Fever II released a blue marlin.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    We hope everyone has enjoyed their Memorial Day!  It was a warm 85F today.  We have had winds in every direction today.  It started off this morning out of the west around 10 mph and will end up out of the south-south-east around 5 mph.

    The cobia bite off the Pier is just getting started.  There was at least one yesterday and one today.  There were three cobia caught yesterday in Buxton.  Today there were sea mullet and puppy drum there.  Frisco  had some sea mullet.

    The inshore boats caught puppy drum, bluefish, spanish mackerel and a few cobia.

    The offshore boats had good catches of blackfin tuna, gaffer and bailer dolphin and a few wahoo.  Those that fished the bottom caught grouper, tilefish and triggerfish.  There was a blue marlin release today as well.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Another pretty day!  We had temperatures in the low 80’s, with light southwest winds this morning.  It breezed up this afternoon, switching to the west-south-west tonight around 12 mph.

    Avon had reports of spanish mackerel, sea mullet and bluefish today.  Buxton had reports of sea mullet, puppy drum and bluefish.  Frisco had sea mullet and bluefish.  Hatteras had some bluefish as well.

    The inshore boats caught some cobia, spanish mackerel and bluefish today.  Pictured below is Christina Hoggard from Windsor NC with a 53lb 8oz cobia  caught today.  Nice fish!!

    The offshore boats had gaffer dolphin, blackfin tuna, some skipjack and wahoo.  From the bottom was grouper and tilefish.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Beautiful weather today. The temperatures were in the low 80’s. The winds were from the South-West at 5-15 mph.

    The fishing was better off the beach today. All along the beach today there was sea-mullet and pompano. In Buxton there was puppy drum at the point and some sheepshead at the jetties.

    Inshore the cobia bite was back on. In the sound there was speckled trout. This afternoon the red drum started to show up.

    Boats finally made it offshore today. There was a good dolphin bite. Black-fin tuna and the bottom fishing was fair today. One blue marlin and a sailfish were released today.
