• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was sunny and hot with increasing winds.  We had south-west winds  15-20 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s.

    Slow fishing today.  Only some sharks caught out at Cape Point.

    The inshore boats had catches of big red drum and puppy drum in the Pamlico Sound.

    The offshore boats stayed at the dock due to the increasing swells.

    Today was the 2nd day of the 13th Annual Hatteras Grand Slam Billfish Tournament.  No boats fished due to the weather and tomorrow looks even worse.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was sunny, hot and humid.  The heat index reached 100 degrees today.  We had south-west winds 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s.

    Up on the Avon beach more sea mullet and pompano were caught. Out at Cape Point in Buxton good bluefish and shark action.  Over on the Frisco beach a few sea mullet and pompano were caught. Up on the Hatteras beach there were some pompano caught.

    The inshore boats had catches of big red drum and puppy drum, bluefish and spanish mackerel in the Pamlico Sound.

    The offshore boats had good dolphin fishing, a few blackfin tuna and 2 blue marlin and 4 sailfish were released today.

    Today was the first day of the 13th Annual Hatteras Grand Slam Billfish Tournament.  There were 2 blue marlin and 4 sailfish released.  For all the current standing click the link in blue above.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was sunny with calm winds.  The winds were from the south at 5 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s.

    The Avon beach had better action with good sea mullet and pompano reported.  The Buxton beaches had some pompano, sea mullet and bluefish reported. Out at Cape Point in Buxton lots of sharks.  Over on the Frisco beach sea mullet and pompano were caught.  Some nice pompano were caught on the Hatteras beaches today.  Pictured are Jeff Madre of Elizabeth City with a 1 lb 15 oz sea mullet and a 2 lb 4 oz pompano caught on the Frisco beach today.

    The inshore boats had catches of speckled trout, big red drum and puppy drum, bluefish and spanish mackerel in the Pamlico Sound.

    The offshore boats caught lots of black fin tuna, good dolphin, bailers and gaffers and some amber jacks.  The sailfish bite was good to with several released.  A blue marlin and white marlin were released today.  Some nice tile fish were also caught.

    Happy 4th of July to everyone.  We hope you have had a safe and fun day.

    Today we had calm winds and the humidity was not as bad as the past few days.   The winds were from the south-west at 5 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 80’s.

    The Buxton beaches had some spanish mackerel, some pompano and bluefish. Out at Cape Point in Buxton lots of sharks.

    The inshore boats had catches of speckled trout and spanish mackerel.

    The offshore boats caught lots of dolphin, a few blackfin tuna and 1 blue marlin, 2 white marlin and 3 sailfish were released today.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had a high of 88F.  We had southwest winds this afternoon around 8 mph.

    Today is a little better than yesterday.  The waves are calming down more and more. There were some sea mullet up and down the beaches.

    The inshore boats had catches of puppy drum, speckled trout and sheepshead.

    For the ones that ventured offshore, there were dolphin, blackfin tuna, amberjack and triggerfish.
