• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was overcast all day.  We had temperatures in the mid 70’s.  The winds were light out of the north this morning and switched this evening out of the east-south-east around 9 mph.

    Avon had good catches of sea mullet and some pompano.  Buxton and Frisco have reported sea mullet, pompano and a few bluefish.  At the Inlet there were a few spanish mackerel.

    The inshore boats had catches of spanish mackerel, bluefish, cobia and drum.  Pictured below is The Hook Up Charter with a couple of drum caught today.

     

     

    The offshore boats had catches of dolphin, blackfin tuna, tile fish, grouper, blue marlin, white marlin and sailfish.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Beautiful weather again today. There was a few clouds and some rain shower later in the day. There was temperatures in the mid 80’s. Winds were from the South-West at 5-10 mph.

    Better fishing off the beach. The sea-mullet were all over the beach. In Avon there was bluefish and spanish mackerel off the pier. At the point there was bluefish and puppy drum. This morning we heard of a cobia caught off the beach in Hatteras.

    Inshore today there was GREAT fishing. The cobia bite was hot. Spanish mackerel and bluefish were there to fill the boxes as well. Back in the sound there was trout and spot biting.

    Offshore today the fishing was amazing. If you didn’t see a marlin you weren’t out today. Many boats released multiple blue marlin. The white marlins and sailfish were biting also. Dolphin and black-fin tuna were biting again today. A few wahoo were biting today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had partly sunny skies. Temperatures were in the high 70’s. Winds were from the South-West at 10-15 mph.

    Slow fishing off the beach today. There was sea-mullet in Avon. Buxton beach had Bluefish and sea-mullet biting. Here in Frisco there was sea-mullet, and sheep-head.

    Inshore today there was a great red drum bite throughout the day. In the morning there was a good cobia bite.

     

    Offshore there was good fishing. The dolphin bite was a little slower but the black-fin tuna were biting which made up for it.  A few wahoo were caught and a couple blue marlin released.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was sunny again with less wind.  The winds were from the south-west at 5-15 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

    Out at Cape Point in Buxton there were a few spanish mackerel, bluefish and sea mullet reported.  Over on the Frisco beach sea mullet, bluefish, spanish mackerel and  sheepshead were caught.

    The inshore boats had real good fishing today in the Pamlico Sound and outside Hatteras Inlet.  Gary trout, bluefish, sea mullet and spot were all caught in the Pamlico Sound.  The Cobia bite was good again today with several caught.  Pictured is Eric Partin and crew with a nice 88 lb cobia caught out on the  shoals at Cape Point in Buxton.

    The offshore action was really good too.  Excellent dolphin fishing with a few wahoo and black fin tuna reported.  The blue marlin fishing is really good right now too.  4 blue marlin were released today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was sunny and windy.  The winds were from the south-west at 15-25 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 70’s.

    Out at Cape Point in Buxton there were yearling drum, sea mullet and bluefish on lures.  Around the Buxton beaches and the jetties small stripers and flounder were reported.  Over on the Frisco beach sheeps head, sea mullet and pompano were caught.  Pictured is Mark Lamphier from Fredericksburg VA with a 6 lb 13 oz sheepshead caught on the Frisco beach today.

    The inshore boats caught more cobia, bluefish, puppy drum and big red drum and spanish mackerel in and around Hatteras Inlet.   The offshore boats had lots of gaffer dolphin, a few blackfin tuna, wahoo and grouper off the bottom.  One blue marlin was released.
