• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was sunny and warm with calm winds.  We had west winds 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 80’s.

    Up on the Avon beach sea mullet and bluefish were reported.  Around the Buxton beaches flounder, sea mullet and some puppy drum and spanish mackerel were caught.  Over on the Frisco beach sea mullet, pompano and a few puppy drum were reported.  Down on the Hatteras beach sea mullet , flounder, bluefish and a few pompano were caught.

    The inshore boats had good catches of bluefish, spanish mackerel, puppy drum, a few big drum and gray trout.

    The offshore fleet had good dolphin catches, a few blackfin tuna and wahoo.  There were several sailfish released along with a few white marlin.

    The 58th Annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament had a lot of action today with 3 blue marlin brought to the scales at Big Rock Landing in Morehead City NC.  “Ashley Lauren” took the lead with their 621.4 lb blue marlin.   • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    It was a clear day on Hatteras Island, with a high off 77F.  We had north-north-east winds this morning at 10 mph with higher gusts, switched to the southeast this afternoon and lessened.  It will be out of the southwest by tonight.

    The fishing has picked up a bit today.  Avon beach had small bluefish and sea mullet.  Buxton had reports of sea mullet.  Frisco had reports of pompano and small bluefish.  Hatteras had reports of sea mullet, spanish mackerel, small flounder and pompano.

    The inshore boats had good catches of drum and trout today.  Only a few boats ventured offshore and some blackfin tuna was caught.  Today is the first day of The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament, 3 blues were brought to the dock:  SANDBOB 476.2 lbs, MARLIN GULL 564.8 lbs. (Fabulous Fisherman Level Winner)  JAMES JOYCE II 418.0 lbs.  Good Luck to all the participants tomorrow!

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had clear skies and a high of 83F.  The winds were out of the southwest again today, between 10-15 with a few higher gusts.  Temperatures will be a little cooler tomorrow.

    The fishing is a little slower today, with all this wind and not many folks being able to get their license til late this afternoon has a lot to do with it.  The internet is up and running now and we are able to get your license once again!  As for the report, Avon had some bluefish and puppy drum.  Buxton to Hatteras reports sea mullet.

    The inshore boats had good catches of gray trout and puppy drum today.  The offshore fleet stayed to the docks.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had clear skies and a high of 83F.  The winds were out of the southwest, 9-20 mph today.  Tomorrow should be more of the same.

    The fishing was a little slower today, all this southwest wind probably had something to do with it.  Avon had reports of sea mullet and spanish mackerel.  Buxton is reporting some sea mullet.  Frisco is reporting sea mullet as well.  Hatteras had sea mullet, flounder and pompano.

    The inshore boats had catches of spanish mackerel, trout and a few cobia today.  The offshore boats had catches of dolphin and a few blackfin tuna.  Those that bottomfished had catches of amberjacks.  One sailfish and one spearfish was released today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Beautiful day here in the island. The temperatures were in the mid 70’s. Winds from the North-East at 10-15.

    From the beach today there was some good fishing. In Avon the sea-mullet and bluefish were biting From the Avon Pier there was sea-mullet, bluefish, and flounder caught. In Buxton there was sea-mullet caught. In Frisco we had sea-mullet and pompano caught. Hatteras beach had flounder, sea-mullet, and pompano biting.

    Inshore fishing was great again today, In The sound there was sea-mullet, bluefish, spot, speckled trout, and grey trout biting. Just outside the inlet the bluefish and spanish mackerel were biting good.

    Offshore bite was good today. There was a scattered wahoo and black-fin tuna bite. The gaffer dolphin were biting good. there was 11 sailfish released just from the Hatteras charter fleet. There was a blue marlin weighed in today over 500 pounds.
