• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    We started the day with more thunderstorms, but they cleared up mid morning and he weather was great from then on. Temperatures were around 80 today. Winds were from the South-West and calm.

    Fishing from the beach picked up today. In Avon there was bluefish, sea-mullet, and spanish mackerel from the beach. From the Pier there was bluefish, spanish mackerel, sea-mullet, and pompano. In Buxton the spanish, sea-mullet, and pompano were biting. Here in Frisco there was some small flounder, sea-mullet, pompano, bluefish, spanish mackerel, and some puppy drum caught.

    Randy Emerson was fishing from the beach here in Frisco late this afternoon and caught a nice yearling drum.

    Inshore today the fishing was great. We weighed a couple cobia today. The spanish and bluefish were biting as well. In The sound there was a good puppy drum bite.

    Dawn Midgett from Buxton caught this nice 71 pound cobia fishing near cape point today.

    Offshore fishing was good today. There was a few sailfish and blue marlins released. Gaffer dolphin were biting great today. the Black-fin tuna are still here and biting good.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    The weather was beautiful today. We only had a few scattered showers late in the day. The temperatures were in the upper 70’s. Winds were calm from the North in The morning turning South-East around noon,

    With the weather clearing up the fishing had to pick up also. In Avon from the beach today there was sea-mullet, pompano, bluefish and some grey trout biting. From the Avon Pier there was sea-mullet, grey trout, bluefish and spanish mackerel. In Buxton there was sea-mullet, pompano and a 75 pound cobia caught off Ramp 43. Slow fishing on the south beach today. In Frisco there was some sea-mullet caught. In Hateras there was sea-mullet, pompano, bluefish and small flounder.

    Inshore today there was spanish mackerel and bluefish biting. In the sound today there was a good puppy drum bite and a scattered cobia.

    Offshore there was a great gaffer and bailer dolphin bite. there was a few sailfish released today as well. The black-fin tuna were biting today also. Off the wrecks there was sea-bass, vermillion snapper, and grouper.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Mostly rainy today wasn’t until late in the afternoon the rain cleared up. Temperatures were in the mid 70’s with winds at 10-15 mph from the North.

    No much for fishing today heavy rain kept everyone inside.

    No inshore report for today.

    Offshore only a few boats made it out and caught some dolphin and black-fin tuna.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had periods of rain with warmer temperatures.  We had south-east winds at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

    Up on the Avon beaches there were sea mullet caught.  The Buxton beaches had some bluefish on lures and sea mullet were caught.  Over on the Frisco beaches sea mullet and flounder were caught.  Down on the Hatteras beach some spanish mackerel and bluefish were reported.

    The inshore boats had a nice catch of puppy drum, gray trout and bluefish in the Pamlico Sound.

    The offshore boats had many billfish bites with 3 blue marlin, 4 sailfish and a white marlin released today,  There were decent gaffer dolphin, a few wahoo and blackfin tuna. A nice grouper was also caught which is pictured below caught off the “Good Times” charter boat.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was rainy off and on.  We had north-east winds at 10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 70’s.

    Up on the Avon beaches there were sea mullet and bluefish caught.  The Buxton beaches had some pompano and sea mullet reported.  Over on the Frisco beaches sea mullet and bluefish were caught.  Down on the Hatteras beach one guy said he caught some nice speckled trout today.

    The inshore boats had a nice catch of puppy drum and a few speckled trout in the Pamlico Sound.  The spanish mackerel and bluefish bite was good around Hatteras Inlet.

    The offshore boats had good gaffer dolphin fishing and some black fin tuna.  Some pretty decent sailfish action today along with some nice groupers being caught.
