• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    We had a beautiful day here on Hatteras Island.  The winds were coming from the west this morning, at lunch it switched to the southwest blowing between 5 and 9 mph. .  We had a high of 80 today.

    Avon beaches had catches of sea mullet, trout and bluefish today.  On down in Buxton, there were catches of sea mullet.  Here in Frisco at Ramp 49 there were catches of sea mullet and a nice pompano.  John Lynch, from South Mills NC caught a nice 2lb 4oz pompano today. (pic below)  Hatteras had catches of bluefish, blow toads and sea mullet.  There was also a cobia caught off the beach there.

    The inshore boats had good catches of red drum and spanish mackerel.  There were a few cobia caught today.

    It was a beautiful day offshore too, boats came back with dolphin, blackfin tuna and some wahoo.  Those that bottomfished had catches of triggerfish, grouper and vermillion snapper.  There were also a few billfish released today!

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had sunny skies. The winds were from the south-west at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the low 70’s.

    Up on the Avon beaches some sea mullet and flounder were caught.  Around the Buxton beaches bluefish and sea mullet were reported.  Over on the Frisco beach some sea mullet and a puppy drum were caught.  Down on the Hatteras beach bluefish, sea mullet and flounder were caught.

    The inshore boats had lots of spanish mackerel and bluefish catches.  Some big red drum were caught and released in the Pamlico Sound.

    The offshore boats had good gaffer dolphin fishing and lots of blue marlin action.  “Hatteras Fever II” weighed in a 634 lb blue marlin.  A few white marlin and sailfish were released.  A potential state record Skip Jack Tuna weighing 32.5 lbs was caught aboard the “Release” charter boat today.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was mostly cloudy with periods of rain.  We had north-west winds 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 60’s.

    Up on the Avon beaches some sea mullet were caught.  Around the Buxton beaches bluefish puppy drum and sea mullet were reported. Even a 45 in red drum was released at Ramp 44.  Over on the Frisco beach some sea mullet were caught.  Down on the Hatteras beach bluefish, sea mullet and flounder were caught.

    The inshore boats had lots of spanish mackerel and bluefish catches.

    The offshore boats had good gaffer dolphin fishing, a few black fin tuna and wahoo.  A couple of sailfish were released.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was a cool, overcast day.  We had a high of 66F and north winds between 5-9 mph.

    The fish were scattered about today.  Avon had catches of sea mullet and some blowtoads.  Buxton had reports of puppy drum and some yearling size drum.  Here in Frisco, just some sea mullet.  Down in Hatteras were some sea mullet, bluefish and flounder.

    The inshore boats had good catches of spanish mackerel, a few gray trout and scattered red drum.

    The offshore boats had good catches of dolphin, mostly gaffers.  They also had catches of blackfin tun and some nice grouper.  One blue and two white marlins were released today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today started out windy with rain but cleared up after noon. The winds were from the south west at 10-15  turning more west and laying out as the day went on. Temperatures were in the lower 70’s.

    Fishing slowed down again today. there was a few sea-mullet caught from Avon to Frisco. in Hatteras there was gray trout, bluefish, sea-mullet, and a few small flounder.

    Yesterday Eric Kwiatkowski from Hanover, PA caught this nice 8 pound bluefish in between Frisco and Hatteras on the beach.

    No inshore or offshore fishing today with the rain and winds this morning.
