    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had clear and sunny skies in the morning with the winds increasing in the afternoon.  The winds were from the west at 10 mph switching to the north at 25-35 mph.  The temperatures were in the mid 60’s and dropping to the upper 40’s.

    On the Buxton beaches today puppy drum and flounder were caught.  Over Ramp 49 in Frisco puppy drum and sea mullet were caught.  Hatteras had reports of spot, small bluefish, flounder and puppy drum.  

    No boats out today inshore or offshore.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had clear skies with a high of 59F.  Winds from the north north east at 5 to 20 mph.

    Buxton beaches had reports of puppy drum and bluefish.  Ramp 49 had reports of puppy drum, sea mullet, flounder, spot and bluefish.  Hatteras had reports of spot, small bluefish, flounder and puppy drum.  Pictured below is Francis Kennedy with a keeper puppy drum he caught today.

    The inshore boats had catches of red drum.  The offshore boats had catches of wahoo and king mackerel.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was clear with a high of 66F. It was a little breezy with winds out of the west at 15 to 20 mph.

    On the Buxton beaches there were puppy drum, black drum, sea mullet, spot and blowtoads caught. Out at Cape Point there were puppy drum and a 44″ drum this evening. Near Frisco Pier there were puppy drum, bluefish, blow toad, spot and flounder. Hatteras had catches of blow toads, puppy drum, sea mullet and spot.

    There is no inshore report for today. The offshore boats had good catches of dolphin, amberjack and blackfin tunas, with a few wahoo. Those who bottom fished caught red snapper and triggerfish. There was 1 blue marlin and 1 white marlin released today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was mostly sunny. We had north winds 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 50’s

    On the Buxton beaches puppy drum, sea mullet and black drum were caught.   Out at Cape Point puppy drum and bluefish catches were pretty good today.  On the Frisco beach puppy drum, little bluefish and small flounder were caught. around Frisco Pier. Down on the Hatteras beach puppy drum, bluefish and flounder were reported.

    The final standings for the 56th Annual Cape Hatteras Anglers Club Surf Fishing Tournament were:

    1st overall- Atlantic Surf Anglers:369 points.

    2nd overall-New Jersey Surf Casters:246 points

    3nd overall-Slammin Sammie’s Hurricanes:226 points

    1st Womens-The Stormy Gales:175 points.

    No inshore reports. The offshore boats that fished today caught good dolphin and wahoo with a few king mackerel and blackfin tuna.  The triggerfish and vermillion snapper fishing was pretty good too.  The picture below is a 24 lb king mackerel caught aboard the Miss Hatteras Head boat today.

    Up on the Buxton beaches puppy drum were caught.   Out at Cape Point puppy drum catches were pretty good again today.  On the Frisco beach puppy drum and bluefish were caught.  Down on the Hatteras beach puppy drum, sea mullet and flounder were reported.

    No inshore or offshore boats fished today.
