• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we partly cloudy skies with periods of sunshine..  The winds were from the north-east at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.

    Today was much nicer than yesterday.  The Avon beaches had some croakers reported.  The Buxton beaches were a little better with spot, bluefish, sea mullet and a few flounder.  Over on the Frisco beach we had some sea mullet, pompano, a puppy drum and keeper flounder.  The Hatteras beaches. had a few puppy drum and some flounder.

    The inshore boats had a good catch of puppy drum in the Pamlico Sound and just out side of Hatteras Inlet some decent bluefish catches and a few spanish mackerel.

    The offshore boats had a pretty good day fishing with dolphin and black fin tuna bite pretty good and an excellent day of wahoo fishing.  There were a few blue marlin and sail fish released.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had rainy skies all day.  The winds were from the south-west at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 70’s. The wind has switched north as of late tonight.

    Even though it rained most of the day there were still some folks fishing.  Up on the Avon beach there were croaker caught.  Around the Buxton beaches spot, croaker and sea mullet were reported.  On the Frisco beach today we had some sea mullet and a nice black drum caught by Nathan Browning of Ball Ground GA.  Pretty work Nathan!!!

    The inshore boats had a good catch of puppy drum.

    No boats ventured offshore today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had partly sunny skies.  The winds were from the south-west at 15-20 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 80’s. Tonight we are expecting scattered thunder storms and some may be severe.

    Fishing was a little slow today.  The Avon beach had reports of croakers.  Around the Buxton beaches croakers, sea mullet and a few spanish mackerel were caught.  The Frisco beach had some sea mullet and small flounder. Down on the Hatteras beaches there were sea mullet and bluefish reported.

    The inshore boats had a good catch of puppy drum and some larger drum.  The speckled and gray trout fishing was pretty good.

    Only a few boats tried to head offshore today and they were turned around early in the trip.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    A beautiful. sunny day here on Hatteras Island.  We had south-west winds between 5-15mph with a high around 85F.

    Catching was a little slower today.  Avon beach had croaker.  Buxton beach reports sea mullet.  Frisco beach reports sea mullet and pompano.  Hatteras had reports of puppy drum, sea mullet, pompano, croaker, flounder and bluefish.

    The inshore boats had a good mix of fish, good catches of puppy drum and big drum, speckled trout, grey trout and spanish mackerel for those that went near shore.

    The offshore boats had good catches of dolphin, a few wahoo, some blackfin tuna and some tilefish.  There were 2 blue marlin and a sailfish release today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was mostly sunny with a high of 84F.  We had south winds, switching to south west at around 10-15mph this evening.

    Avon beach had reports of sea mullet.  Buxton beach had reports of pompano and sea mullet.  Ramp 44 had reports of some spanish mackerel this evening.  Frisco beach had reports of pompano and sea mullet.  Pictured below is Kyle and Bodey with a sea mullet caught at Ramp 49.  Hatteras beach had reports of bluefish, flounder, pompano and sea mullet.

    The inshore boats had a pretty day, they caught spanish mackerel and bluefish.  The offshore boats caught dolphin, some came back with limits.  The wahoo fishing was slow today.  The boats that bottom fished caught snapper, triggerfish and tilefish.  There were a two sailfish released today.
