• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    The winds were from the south south-west at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the low 80’s.  Up on the Avon beach some bluefish and some sea mullet were caught.  Around the Buxton beaches only some sea mullet and spot were caught.  Over on the Frisco beach nice puppy drum, sea mullet and a few pompano were caught. Down on the Hatteras Beach sea mullet, spanish mackerel and flounder were reported.  The picture below is Francis Kennedy with his puppy drum from this morning from the Frisco Beach.

    puppy drum frisco nc.The inshore fishing in the Pamlico Sound was pretty good today.  Boats are catching puppy drum, flounder, speckled and gray trout.

    The offshore boats had a real good marlin bite today.  The “Bite Me” charter boat released 3 blue marlin and 2 white marlin today.  The dolphin bite was good with lots of limits and a few black fin and yellowfin tuna.   • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    The winds were from the south-west at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 80’s.  Up on the Avon beach some nice spanish mackerel, bluefish and some flounder were caught.  Around the Buxton beaches a  few spanish mackerel, blue fish and some sea mullet were caught.  Over on the Frisco beach a nice puppy drum and a few pompano were caught.  A nice 27 in puppy drum caught my Francis Kennedy tonight from the Frisco Beach.

    The inshore boats are catching spanish mackerel and red drum, with a few cobia mixed in.  The picture below is from the “Adventure”  charter boat with a nice cobia.  .

    The offshore boats are catching lots of dolphin, some nice class of yellowfin tuna, a few wahoo and black fin tuna.  There were a few white marlin and a couple of Blue marlin and sailfish released.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    We had a beautiful day here on the island.  The winds were north-east or east-north-east at 9-12 mph throughout the day, with a high around 75F.

    Avon beach had sea mullet, croaker, spot and spanish mackerel.  Frisco beach had sea mullet, pompano, black drum and sheepshead.  Hatteras beaches had reports of sea mullet, pompano, small bluefish and small flounder.

    The inshore boats are catching spanish mackerel and red drum.  The offshore boats are coming back to the docks with excellent catches of dolphin, gaffers and bailers.  Scattered catches of  wahoo, yellowfin and blackfin tuna.  There were a couple of sailfish and a white marlins released today also.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    We had cloudy skies with scattered rain showers today.  We had ENE winds around 11 mph.  The high was near 76F.

    Avon beach had sea mullet.  Buxton beach had reports of spanish mackerel and flounder.  Frisco beaches had reports of sea mullet and pompano, a couple of citations.  Hatteras beach had reports of small bluefish, flounder and pompano.

    Inshore boats caught spanish mackerel.  The offshore boats had real good catches of yellowfin tuna and good catches of dolphin.  The boats that bottomfished caught gray tilefish.  There was one sailfish released today.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    It was a cloudy morning here today. The temperature was in the lower 70’s and wind was 5-10 mph from the west. The sun came out in the early afternoon and the temperature rose to around 80 with South-West winds around 10 mph.

    The fishing was spot on today. In Avon there was Sea-Mullet, Spot, Croaker, Blues,and Spanish. Buxton the Spot and Spanish mad an appearance. In Frisco today the Pompano,Sea-Mullet, Puppy Drum, and Black Drum were caught. In Hatteras the Croaker, Sea-Mullet, and Flounder.

    The inshore boats had a good day for just about everything, Speckled Trout, Grey Trout, and Puppy Drum. There was also some good clamming today.

    Offshore the fishing was great. The Dolphin bite was good and some boats had limits. There was also some Triggerfish and Tile fish caught. The Wahoo and Yellowfin Tuna bite was scattered. There were a few White Marlin and Sailfish released.

    John Morgan fished with “Sea Creature” and got a nice 60lb Yellowfin Tuna.
