• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

Happy Fourth of July! Very different this year with hurricane Arthur. Usually the beaches are packed with people fishing and having a good time. This year its beaches are empty.

Not much of a fishing report for today more of a weather update. The morning was filled with hurricane excitement and cleanup, with the last bands of Arthur passing and clearing out at around 4:30-5:00 this morning. When everything settled the sun came out and the winds were around 15-20 MPH dropping off to 5-10 MPH in the afternoon from the North-West and the temperature hanging around 80 throughout the day.

  • Hatteras Island Weather Report Hurricane Arthur

Today we had a full day of preparation for Hurricane Arthur.   We had a mandatory evacuation as of 5am this morning.  The winds were from the south-east at 15-25 mph and the temperatures were in the low 90’s.  With the south-east winds the sound is pretty much dry near the shore.  They are forecasting Arthur to make landfall around the Morehead City area and then push to the north-east over top or just inside of Cape Hatteras.  The winds should switch to the north or north-west than around  to the south-west and by Friday the 4th in the afternoon hopefully Hurricane Arthur will be way offshore.

Will keep you posted tomorrow.  We hope to be back open for business Friday morning as soon as the weather permits.
