• Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

It was a nice day today with sunny skies.  The winds were from the north switching to the south-east at 10-15 mph with the temperatures in the low 50’s.  The ocean overwash has subsided as of this morning.  We sure hope it stays that way for a while.

We have no reports of fish caught from the beaches again today. We have sunny skies forecasted for the weekend with warmer temperatures.  Maybe the fishing will pick up.

No boats fishing inshore today.  The offshore fishing was good today for the only boat that fished.  Bluefin tunas were caught, I’m not sure how many but more than one.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

It was rainy most of the day today with gusty winds.  The winds were from the south at 10-20 mph with some gusts to 35 during the peak of the low pressure moving through.  The temperatures were in the upper 50’s.  The ocean overwash is still occurring on the northern beaches around high tide.

We have no reports of fish caught from the beaches today.  With this new low pushing through the waves have jumped up a bit and the seas are rough again.  They should be subsiding through Friday.

No boats fishing inshore or offshore.  No pictures of yesterday’s fish but the “Tuna Duck” did post Sunday’s catch with their 190# bluefin tuna.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

It was such a nice and sunny day today with calm winds.  The winds were from the south-east at 5-10 mph with the temperatures in the low 60’s.  The ocean overwash is still occurring on the northern beaches around high tide.

We have no reports of fish caught from the beaches today.  The kids who bought the squid on Saturday came in and said they did catch a sea mullet even with the surf as rough as it was.  The swell has calmed down quite a bit on the Frisco and Hatteras beach and the water was cleaner with a greener look.

No boats fishing inshore.  There were some boats fishing offshore today and they did have some real good bluefin tuna action late in the day.  No pictures yet but maybe tomorrow I will have some from today.

Yo-Zuri H.D. Carbon is a fishing line that maximizes the advantages of fluorocarbon and a disappearing pink tint. Fluorocarbon is next to invisible in water and pink is one of the first colors to disappear underwater – doubling your invisibility advantage.  The tunas can become leader shy and a high quality flurocarbon leader is the answer.

It was sunny today with calm winds.  The winds were from the north-east at 5-10 mph with the temperatures in the mid 50’s.  The ocean overwash is still occurring on the northern beaches around high tide but hopefully with the swell getting smaller overwash will be minimal.

No boats fishing inshore.  We did have a few boats fishing offshore today.  They found the bluefin tunas but only one was caught today on the troll.  A few blackfin tuna were also caught.  Below is the “Godspeed” charter boat with their bluefin tuna from today’s trip.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Report

Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

It was mostly sunny today.  The winds were from the north at 10-20 mph with gust to 35 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 40’s.  The ocean overwash is still occurring on the northern beaches around high tide and today we had minor overwash in between Frisco and Hatteras..  The swell forecast is supposed to be big through Sunday.

We still have no reports of fish caught today with more heavy surf from the low pressure.  I did sell some squid to some kids looking to fish but no reports back.

No boats fishing inshore or offshore.  We do have a few boats hoping to try it tomorrow if they can get through Hatteras Inlet.
