    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    We were off to a nice cool start, sure felt like a nice fall morning.  Today was a beautiful day, temperatures in the upper 70’s.  The winds were light and out of the north this morning and out of the northwest this afternoon.

    The fishing picked up today.  Avon reports spanish mackerel, bluefish, pompano and sea mullet.  Buxton reports bluefish,  pompano, sea mullet, flounder and spanish mackerel.  Frisco reports bluefish, pompano, spot and croaker.  Mostly caught on finger mullet.  Hatteras reports bluefish, sea mullet and croaker.

    The inshore boats had excellent catches of spanish mackerel today, along with release catches of big red drum.

    The offshore boats had good dolphin catches, along with fair wahoo and blackfin tuna catches.  The boats that bottomfished caught triggerfish and amberjacks.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    We were off to a dreary start with rain showers early this morning and cloudy skies.  It stayed a little cloudy today with a high of 80 and the winds were out of the west for most of the day, switching to the northwest tonight.

    Avon reports some bluefish, spot and croaker.  Buxton reports bluefish and spot.  Frisco had some bluefish.  Hatteras reports bluefish, spot, sea mullet and pompano.

    The inshore boats had a good day catching keeper drum and some releases.

    The offshore boats did not make it out today because of the winds this morning.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    It was a windy rainy day here on the island. We had scattered rain showers through out the day with some thunder storms mixed in. The winds were South-West 5-10 in the morning icking up later in the day to 15-20 mph. Temperatures were around 80 today.

    From the beach the fishing was great even in the nasty weather. From Avon pier there was black drum , pompano and false albacore caught. In Buxton there was pompano and bluefish caught. There was one citation sized drum released from the point today. Here in Frisco the Bluefish were here in full force. There was some black drum, pompano and flounder caught as well.

    Inshore today the red drum continue to bite great. Spanish mackerel and bluefish were biting just outside of the inlet.

    Offshore the fishing was good in the morning before the winds picked up. The dolphin bite was great. Wahoo and blackfin tuna were biting but were scattered.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had cloudy skies in the morning bit clearing up as the day went on. The temperatures were in the lower 80’s and winds were 5-10 mph from the west.

    From the beach today there was some great fishing. In Avon there was sea-mullet bluefish and croaker from the beach. From the pier there was spot, croaker, sea-mullet and some albacore caught. In Buxton there was pompano and bluefish biting. Here in Frisco we had bluefish, sea-mullet and pompano caught. Hatteras beach there was puppy drum, bluefish, spot, sea-mullet and pompano caught.

    Inshore today the red drum fishing was great with citations being released and keepers brought to the docks.

    Offshore today the fishing was good. The wahoo and dolphin, both bailer and gaffers, continue to fill the boxes.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    the day started off great with 5-10 mph South West winds but as the day went on the winds picked up to 15-20 in the afternoon. The temperatures were in the mid 80’s throughout the day.

    From the beach today there it was scattered fishing. In Avon the fishing was great with croaker, spot, sea-mulet and pompano biting. From the pier there was spanish mackerel, croaker, sea-mullet and pompano caught. In Buxton there was bluefish biting. Hatteras beach had some puppy drum mixed in with bluefish today.

     

    Inshore today the keeper sized drum were biting great. There was some good flounder fishing today as well.

    Offshore today the fishing was great even with the windy conditions. There was a great billfish bite. The dolphin and wahoo fishing continues to be great for filling the fish box.
