• Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today we had temperatures in the mid 80’s. There was some scattered thunderstorms around. the winds were 10-15 mph from the South-East.

    From the beach today there was some great fishing even with the weather. In Avon there was there was spanish, bluefish, sea-mullet, pompano, spot and croaker biting. In Buxton there was just a few sea-mullet biting. Here in Frisco there was Sea-mullet and pompano. In Hatteras the puppy drum were biting with sea-mullet, croaker and bluefish caught.

    Inshore today the red drum fishing was great again. There was some bluefish biting also. Some boats went clamming and found some good beds of them.

    Offshore today there dolphin fishing was good. The wahoo bite picked up a little bit today. There was a few blackfin tuna brought in today as well. From the bottom there was triggerfish caught.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    The weather today was great for fishing. We had clear skies and warm temperatures. the winds were North at 5-10 mph. Temperature was in the mid 80’s throughout the day.

    From the beach today there was some good fishing. In Avon the croaker, sea-mullt and spot were biting. In Buxton there was a good bluefish bite. Here in Frisco there was pompano, sea-mullet and spot caught. In Hatteras there was puppy drum, sea mullet, blues, pompano, flounder, and croaker biting.

    Here is Josh Kiser from Salem Va. with a 1lb 6.5oz pompano he caught today off the beach in Hatteras. Nice Catch Josh.

    Inshore today there was some good grey trout, and red drum fishing. The clams are here in full force with many boats getting there limit. Near shore today there was a good spanish makerel and king mackerel bite.

    Offshore today the fishing was pretty good. The bailer and gaffer dolphin are still here, and the blackfin tuna was scattered. Wahoo fishing is going great with some larger fish showing up. From the bottom there was some vermillion snapper, silver snapper, triggerfish and some glasseye snapper.

  • Hatteras Island Fishing Reports

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was overcast with some morning rain showers with mostly sunny skies in the afternoon. The winds were from the south-west at 10-20 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 80’s.

    Up on the Avon beach sea mullet, spot, pompano and croaker were reported.  Around the Buxton beach there were a few spanish mackerel caught.  Over on the Frisco beach croaker, sea mullet and a 21″ and 25″ puppy drum were caught.  Down on the Hatteras beaches there were reports of sea mullet, spot, croaker, flounder, bluefish and pompano.

    The inshore boats had good catches of puppy drum and a few gray trout in the Pamlico Sound.   Some decent spanish mackerel catches were reported just outside Hatteras Inlet.

    The offshore boats had scattered catches of dolphin, wahoo, yellowfin and blackfin tuna.  One sailfish were released.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was sunny and warm.  The winds were from the southeast at 10-12 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s.

    Up on the Avon beach sea mullet, spot and croaker were reported.  Around the Buxton beach there were a few spanish mackerel caught.  Over on the Frisco beach croaker and sea mullet were caught.  Down on the Hatteras beaches there were reports of sea mullet, spot, croaker, flounder and pompano.

    The inshore boats had good catches of red drum in the keeper range and several 40 inches plus in the Pamlico Sound.  The speckled trout bite was really good today with some gray trout mixed in,  Pictured below is the charter boat “Adventure”  with a 47″ red drum caught in the Pamlico Sound today.

    The offshore boats had scattered catches of dolphin and wahoo with some good bottom fishing for b liners, trigger fish and amberjack.   Two sailfish were released.

    Here is the Frisco Rod and Gun Outer Banks Fishing Report for Hatteras Island.

    Today was another beautiful day on Hatteras Island.  The winds were from the southeast at 5-10 mph and the temperatures were in the upper 80’s.

    Up on the Avon beach spot and croaker were reported.  Around the Buxton beach there were bluefish caught.  Over on the Frisco beach croaker, spot and sea mullet were caught.  Down on the Hatteras beaches there were reports of sea mullet, spot, croaker, flounder and pompano.

    The inshore boats had good catches of red drum in the Pamlico Sound.  The spanish mackerel and bluefish catches were scattered just outside Hatteras Inlet.

    The offshore boats had scattered catches of dolphin and wahoo with a few barracudas and amberjacks in the mix.  One sailfish was released.
